Jim Mills was a chef for 25 years with the Paragary Restaurant Group. He has used that knowledge and experience, along with his infectious enthusiasm for locally grown agricultural and other food products to encourage regional farmers and chefs to join the growing “farm to fork” movement. As a go-between for the region’s farmers and chefs, he has helped them to develop diverse and innovative menus using the region’s agricultural bounty.

Jim has been an advisor, collaborator and booster for the farmers and chefs of the region and has been an important ingredient in Sacramento’s growing importance as a “farm to fork” capital. The culmination of the burgeoning enthusiasm for locally grown products was the very successful “Farm to Fork Festival” held on September 28, 2013, showcasing local food and farming to illustrate the diversity and importance of our local farm to fork movement.
